Taking IT to New Heights
GVCFI strengthens the IT Department with its new dean, Engr. Elever Mateo which will start to hold office starting 2nd Semester of School Year 2009-2010.
At the same time, the institution is also currently on talks with IBM to adopt the courseware that they have developed to be integrated in the IT curriculum as part of IBM’s Academic Initiative program. If such materializes, Green Valley will be the 1st IT initiative partner of IBM, the world’s leading technology company, in Mindanao.
Three faculty, namely Mr. Jeffrey Guinabo, Mr. Junriel Hospital and Mr. Joseph Constantinopla is also currently being prepared for a study leave in Manila. The focus of their study will be on advanced IT topics. According to the Academic VP, when the 3 instructors come back from their months of study, they would be able to share new and updated knowledge on the many breakthroughs in the field of ICT.
These developments are prompted by the new strategic direction of the department to being the top IT center in the province.
