The 1st GBC Mindanao by Roger Cuenca III
Koronadal, South Cotabato - Green Valley College Foundation,Inc. (GVCFI) partnership with the Association of Training Institutions for Foreign Trade in Asia and the Pacific (ATIFTAP) presented the 1st GLOBAL BUSINESS CONFERENCE in Mindanao on July 12,2009 at the South Cotabato Gymnasium with the theme: :”Strengthening the INVISIBLE: Enhancing Services for Global Competitiveness”. The focus of conference is to strengthen and improve South Cotabato’s service industry for Global Competitiveness.
The Program
The event started with a doxology featuring GVCFI dancers followed by the Philippine National Anthem. An ethnic dance presentation “SINGKIL” signals the opening ceremony. The dynamic Governor of South Cotabato Governor Daisy Avance Fuentes salutes the Green Valley Foundation, Inc. for its commitment in helping the Government in the campaign of continual development and improvement of South Cotabato as she formally opens the conference.
The Speakers, Government Officials, Guests and Participants were acknowledged and welcome by ATIFTAP representative Dr. Jojo Mutuc. The hosts introduced the reactors and the first speaker. The reactors have been selected from different industry with expertise in business, reactors are Mr. Carlito Uy-President of South Cotabato Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Ismael Sueno- former Municpal Mayor and Governor of Koronadal and South Cotabato,respectively, Mr. Ireneo Galdones,MBA- Instructor of NDMU and GVCFI, Dr. Cecelia S. Billena- Coordinator of the Expanded Tertiary Education Program (ETEEAP), Mr. Lachman Bharwani- President of South Cotabato Toastmasters International and Marbel Lions Club, and Vice Governor Eliordo Ogena –Incumbent.
The Sessions
The 1st Speaker was an entrepreneur full of passion, she is the Co-Owner and Marketing Head of SWEET AND SUGAR – FREE GUILTY PLEASURES, Miss LYSA J. SANCHEZ. Her topic focused transforming an advocacy to business with her Guilty Pleasure Story. The reactors were given air time to discuss their insights after the end of each topic.
Before the introduction of the 2nd Speaker, the GVCFI Dancers showcased their talents with an ETHNO MODERN presentation.
The 2nd Speaker – BENJIE ENCARNACION is the former Market Intelligence Head at Nestle, Philippines - which is the lead Market for Nestle in Zone AOA (Asia, Oceania, and Africa) and ranked 11th Worldwide in the Nestle Group. He gave emphasis on the Role of Research in the Service Industry by making the Invisible Visible.
The 3rd Speaker was Dr. JOSE EDGAR MUTUC of ATIFTAP, the Director of the Graduate School of Engineering and an Associate Professor at the Industrial Engineering Department of De La Salle University, delivers the importance of Business Management System.
The Last Speaker was Mr. RJ SUSTIGUER. He is the Academic Vice President of Green Valley College Foundation, Inc, and Chief Empowering Officer- PowerCoach Business and Personality Workshops. His topic focus on the value innovations in the Service Industry that constant quality improvement of the products will guarantee a major spot in the market.
