CAPTIVATING THE TREE OF HOPE By: John Marlon L. Molinos
Another most prized possession was once again received by the Toque Republic of Green Valley College Foundation, Inc. on the Kawayan Festival which was been Held Last February 19-27, 2010 by the provincial government of South Cotabato at the Protech Center. Our school has joined the “Kawayan Sleeping Garden Room Showcase”. There were many activities that was been made by the province for the people of
The Toque republic which is better known as the HRM Department of GVCFI has Pave the way for excellence in winning such event. There were a lot of schools who participated on the said event but before the competition is going to start, they’ve backed-out and there were only three braved and competent schools left, namely; Green Valley College Foundation, Inc. (GVCFI), Marbel Institute of Technology College (MITC), and the Holy Child College of Surallah. These schools have their own representatives to present their showcase. Ours are John Marlon Molinos, Leizl Juares, and Sherwin Jay Faisal Hapitan. Each of the school has their own theme for the event and our theme was “Kawayan Sanctuary”. It was a place where you can relax, unwind, and escape the business and pressures of life. It is also where you can fall in love and be loved back by nature. Our entry is a total package, from the bed, down to its interiors.
There were two sets of judging, the Preliminary and the Final. During the preliminary Judging, our entry caught the eye of the judges because of its ambiance and its relevance to the competition. And it’s getting even better on the day of the final judging because of the new set-up of our entry. Yes! You’ve heard it right; we’ve change the interior and add other stuffs to make it more special for the final judging. And all the donkeywork of the students has come to a sweet and delightful end because for the second time around, we have won the grand prize. It could not be happened without the undying support of the administrators and the HRM Faculty and Staff of GVCFI. And also to the students who helped us, Ojie Bancuyo, Nerie Urpiana, Michael Pama, Kenneth John
To all the students of GVCFI especially the students of the

ECO-Tourism & ECO-Productivity by John Marlon Molinos
RAMOS PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION, INC. (RPDEV) and the DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM OF THE PHILIPPINES conducted a seminar on Eco-Tourism and Eco-Productivity entitled “ECO-MISMO”. This seminar aims to boost the tourism industry here in the south. One of key speakers of the said activity is our former President of the Philippines and the Founder of the RPDEV its self, Mr. Fidel V. Ramos and the governor of South Cotabato 2nd District, Governor of the Sarangani Province, an Owner of the Luxurious El Nido Resort in Palawan and some from the different Government Agencies all over the Philippines. There were many participants who joined in the said activity from allover the SOCSKSARGEN area and luckily, some of the Faculty, Staff, and students of GVCFI were there also.
The speakers talks about how abundant on ECO-Tourism and ECO-Products the SOCSKSARGEN has. They feature the
The typhoon Kitsana better known as “Ondoy” is only the beginning. Because of the drought that we have been experiencing right now, the whole world is in danger. the speaker from Pag-Asa conducted a simulation showing that the Icy part of the planet is now getting thinner and thinner as time passes, and when this happen, some of the places here in our zone will be permanently erased to the world map.
It is very alarming. It is not only a threat to the tourism industry but also to the people as well. Another phenomenal catastrophe that we are experiencing right now is the El NiƱo that is why we have a rotating brownout. And we can’t deny the fact that we are a little low in terms of tourism now a days because of that. That is why the Department of Tourism is now conducting this seminar for the better good of everybody. And one way of solving this heat is that if we only know and have a better technology that can take that huge water reservoir here in south. Some of the geologist discovered a good source of hydro power here in south but sadly, we don’t have any equipment to make those as our asset in electricity. It could cost us millions or even billions for it to be possible. If so, there will be a sudden growth of tourism here. These are some of the things that were stored to the minds of the students and professionals who participated in the said talk.
A very prestigious seminar that was brought here in the South, for the people of the South. The

How to choose a business school
"The first thing [a student] should try to do is know their own objectives - know what they're trying to obtain and then try to find a business school which best suits what you're trying to achieve."
Some people may be looking at a quick path to a higher business credential so their objective might be a shorter, less costly route to a program. Another goal might be to obtain a credential and brand name MBA "so you may want to look at rankings and see where you might get the best brand recognition," says Bhargava. This might be the case when someone is already in a job and wants to increase their credentials and recognition within their company.
A third objective might be a thought-provoking, academic experience. In such a case, prospective students should look at the research and output of the business school. "Ask if they're on the leading edge academically,"
If you're looking for a career or training as a business analyst, you need to look for a school that has a strong analytical and quantitative reputation, Finally, if your objective is to be a senior manager and business leader, you should be looking for a managerial school rather than a business school.
"You should be looking for a faculty with management experience ".And you should be looking for a business school that really values the experience you'd be bringing into an organization."
In addition to the content of the school curriculum, potential students should consider several other factors:
• the background of the faculty -- are they pure academics or do they have world experience?
• the potential of long-distance or part-time learning, in case the student is already employed and needs to fit their academic training into an already busy life.
• where are the alumni working? Would they be proud to have graduates knocking on their door?
• the type of learning models that are used -- are there lectures, case studies and facilitated dialogues with business leaders?
• what sort of practical experience will be gained through the school?
The Green Valley, for example, students participate in consulting projects for organizations. "You work with an organization and actually engage with them to help them with their problem," "It's a safe opportunity to show them you can add value to their environment."
Finally, do not underestimate the importance of doing your own personal research.
